You Can File A Formal Complaint with the City of Aurora & Speak at Public Meetings

Colorado for the most part has good landlord tenant laws. If is a federal and state law that you have the right to assemble with your neighbors with the landlord retaliating against you. If the landlord retaliates against tenants. Tenants can sue the landlord and the government may fine the landlord. Colorado junk fee law went into effect this year 2026 and landlords can not charge you for certain thinks and definitely can not evict you for fees. It does not matter your race or immigration status if you have a lease with your place of living it should be safe and habitable.

You can file a formal complaint with Aurora Code Enforcement, Building Inspection, and the Fire Department of an unsafe, unsanitary, etc. Speak up and Speak out at ward meetings, city council meetings and other public meetings. If you do not have time make a phone call or send an email to Aurora city council members.

Take a screen shot and write down the confirmation number. It is recommended you video record and take a picture of the code enforcement officer if he visits the apartment complex. He is responsible for a specific physical area of Aurora and the Ridge Hill Apartment is located in that area, district or ward. I have complained multiple times to Ruben Medina about Ridge Hill Apartments. Keep records of contacting him and send me the information. Because he is neglecting the issues. He did address my stairs and parking structure but neglected others.
